The difference between a 5400 and 7200 rpm hard drive

According to same calculation method, for a 5400 (rpm) hard disk, average rotation delay time is 60×1000÷5400÷2=5.56 milliseconds. Compared to two, 7200 rpm is theoretically 15% faster than 5400 rpm, but actual speed is only less than 10% faster than latter, far from one-third expected by many people.
