Cold knowledge: can you disinfect mobile phones with alcohol?
Since epidemic started, many fans have come to me with questions:
Can I disinfect mobile phones with alcohol?

Some people say don't be afraid, mobile phones are very fragile.
Some say that alcohol can damage screen coating.
There are different opinions.

It's useless if we say it, we should listen to what mobile phone manufacturer has to say.
The editor saw a corner of Apple's website today and wrote thousands of words teaching us how to clean it up.
Even from iPhone 1 to iPhone 13, cleaning method of each model is different:

If you don't want to read a long story, just listen to editor's summary.
Long story short:You can wipe your phone with rubbing alcohol, but watch your posture.
First of all, with regard to detergents, not all detergents can be used.
Our regular isopropyl alcohol and ethanol (alcohol) can be used to clean iPhone surface.
We just also need to pay attention to concentration. Like commonly used 75% alcohol wipes, this is not a problem.

As for other cleaners, such as those containing bleach and hydrogen peroxide (also known as hydrogen peroxide), they are not allowed.
If goal is not disinfection, but general cleaning, Apple also recommends a very common but effective cleaner: Warm soapy water.

This may be most common gadget in home, but it is very useful~
The second point is also ignored by many fans.
While rubbing alcohol can be used on mobile phone surfaces, many people do it wrong way.

The editor noticed that some people splash alcohol directly on their mobile phones, which is very dangerous.
In general cleaning guidelines for all Apple products, last paragraph clearly states:Do not spray cleaners directly on product.

Actually, this is because airflow is in a high-speed state during spraying, and it is easy to get inside phone from slots and holes.
Even if you are an IP68 mobile phone, it will be dangerous in this state.

For same reason, do not use compressed air on phone, as high-speed airflow can blow particles into phone.

The above recommendations are provided by Apple's official website.
Perhaps other mobile phone manufacturers have similar precautions on their official websites or in their mobile phone manuals. You can check them yourself.
